“Villa Tropica- a perfect family vacation retreat!”

My family of eight adults had a wonderful time at Villa Tropica. The house was beautifully appointed, very clean, and spacious. We found the kitchen was well equipped, and it enabled us to easily put together breakfast and lunch. The master suites are very comfortable and stylish. The other 3 bedrooms are an adequate size and on the opposite side of the house. We delighted in the outdoor spaces as well. The lush foliage and beautiful pool was a welcome retreat from the direct sun exposure on the beach. It was great to have pool floats, a hammock, plenty of seating outdoors and a gas grill. And we greatly appreciated not having to bring our own beach towels or beach chairs. Finally, the owners were very attentive to communication throughout the booking process and following our visit.

Awesome Stay!!

We stayed here with 11 adults and 2 children and had a great time! The pool was a hit with everyone and the large outdoor areas were great for dining or just relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms were comfortable.
The house was very clean and we would definitely stay here again. The location is also great being close to restaurants and beaches. The house also provided ample floats and toys for the kids and the bikes were nice as well. After a long day at the beach or pool, having the Roku was also a treat. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

The house was very clean and we would definitely stay here again. The location is also great being close to restaurants and beaches. The house also provided ample floats and toys for the kids and the bikes were nice as well. After a long day at the beach or pool, having the Roku was also a treat. Fantastic Property

We really enjoyed our stay. Our group included 2 families of 4 (siblings) and our parents. Our children's ages were 6, 4, 3 & 1. Our trip started off great, the property manager had an escort at the airport for us to follow to the property. We rented a car, which I recommend, the property is not within quick walking distance to any stores. We were very impressed upon arrival. The house is beautiful, the yard is great. There is so much space for large groups/families.
The kids had a blast in the pool and the yard, the yard appears to be the best in the area, it is completely landscaped and mature and secure. The pool is clean and larger that I expected, the owner had gates installed prior to our arrival which was great for us since we had small children. We found the bed and bedding to be very comfortable, the kitchen is very well stocked, the furniture is beautiful and comfortable. The bikes are great for cruising.
There are beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys (we left more behind as well), pool toys, comfortable out door furniture. The beach was a short walk and very beautiful of course. If you have small children I recommend going to Sapodilla Bay, it is so beautiful, shallow and quiet, really worth the time to go.
We also took in the Thursday night fish fry, we really enjoyed the food, it gets busy so I recommend to go early! We found groceries very expensive, we are Canadian and used to spending $ on groceries and alcohol but it was a significant amount more than we are used to. I recommend taking advantage of duty free if you drink! We also left behind a placement drink menu that one of us made so if its still there try some of the drinks, Margaritas always make it more fun!! The only draw back, which is not property specific, is the bug bites we received in the evening, our family is prone to getting bit, they like us. We didn't see many bugs so it wasn't irritating but we got silently bit! If you choose this property I don't think you will be disappointed, we have done a significant amount of travel and we would return.

We are glad that you have discovered and explored our beautiful beaches with their shallow turquoise waters. You got silently bitten by what we call noseeum. You usually simply apply a gentle cream or light spray at sunset and voilà, you can enjoy a relaxing evening in the palms gardens. We look forward to welcome you and your family again !

Perfect Relaxing Family Getaway

We loved every minute of our stay at Villa Tropica. The outdoor gardens and pool are immaculate and private. The home was equally gorgeous and well-equipped with everything you'd need to enjoy the beach or cooking BBQs/meals.
Pelican Beach was within a 5min walk of the house, and was the most beautiful beach we visited on the island. The service from Dany and Charlene was exceptional - very quick and responsive to our questions/needs.
We would highly recommend Villa Tropica to any family traveling with young children looking for some peace and quiet, in a beautiful tropical oasis. We hope to visit again soon.

First time visitors to TCI from Canada. 6 adults (31 to 65) 3 kids (15mo to 5yo) visiting Feb 2015 -Home suited us very well. Lots of space, very comfortable and very clean as mentioned. -great pool, very lush landscaping contributing to a private feel, nice outdoor seating/ dining table -4 bikes (3 adult) , beach chairs, toys for kids....such a nice touch. -kitchen was very nice, very well equipped as advertised and they even have a good selection of spices too. -BBQ is there too which we used twice for family meals at the house. -beach was awesome. probably a 5-10 minute walk to the closest point.
you could walk either direction. we were very surprised that the beaches were NOT busy, but then again you're not in a resort area until you start walking a ways west down the beach! -for making your OWN food you can go to the Marina (<10 min bicycle) which is a small high-end grocer (limited proteins). It's expensive. Bring a backpack (the bicycles have baskets too). Alternatively you can bike to Graceway gourmet (about 30-45 mins each way on bicycle). Or drive to graceway gourmet (10 mins by car) or to the less expensive IGA on the highway (15+ mins by car.).
Snacks are expensive so consider bringing your own (eg granola bars) -Tonnes of good restaurants on the island.... they will provide you with dining guides and maps to help you find your way! Even the closest restaurants are a decently far walk, FYI but we walked as far as Hemingways (1 hour walk each way) -agree to strongly recommend bringing bug spray. lots of little "no-see-em" bugs which bite some people more than others. they're everywhere on the island so you just gotta be prepared to deal with them! -we loved walking (or cycling) into the grace bay commercial area but if you're not keen on exercise you would need a rental.
we rented a scooter for one day (just my wife and I) from paradise scooters to explore the island and we also rented a 10 person van (grace bay rentals) to explore the island with the entire family.
No problems with any rentals. Scooter rental employee picked you up and brought you to the rental location (and returned you). The van rental company offered complimentary drop off at the house and pickup at the house (very handy). Scooter rental was $75USD for a day, van was $190USD. Driving on the opposite side was NOT challenging. People drive relatively slow compared to what we're used to. -we would all HIGHLY recommend Villa Tropica :)
